Popular Trucks On The Road
By Popular Trucks On The Road
Can you picture a soccer mom without an SUV? Can you picture a backwoods boy without a giant pick up truck? The size of a truck has nothing to do with a driver's need for the truck; the size is more of a status symbol and lifestyle. As the popularity of trucks increase, the trucks features and looks keep getting better.
The pick-up truck and the SUV are the two most popular types of trucks on the road today. Indeed, trucks outnumber automobiles in America today. Trucks have become so popular that luxury car manufacturers that would have never considered trucks now include elegant SUV's in their product line. Who would have ever thought that such names as Lincoln and Cadillac would place their names on a truck?
For nearly thirty years, families that needed extra cargo space bought a station wagon. The family station wagon has been replaced by the roomier and more convenient SUV or club cab pick-up truck. Pick-up trucks are no longer the masculine vehicle they once were; many women purchase a pick-up truck as their personal vehicle and select powerful V8 models with four-wheel drive for additional handling in rough conditions.
For over twenty years Ford Motor Company has produced the best selling pick-up trucks on the market. Year in and year out, the F-series pick-up truck has remained not only the top selling truck in America but actually is the top selling vehicle, period. Why is this truck so popular? These trucks offer an excellent range of features that include a full size truck bed, large engine, a variety of cab styles, and excellent handling capabilities that simply outperform the competition. The Ford F-series outsells the competition 2 to 1, selling twice as many trucks as GMC and Chevrolet combined. Plus ford trucks are affordable. Most Ford Explorers sell for $24,000 to $31,500 and Ford F-150s are sold for $20,000 to $40,000.
GMC trucks are second in sales to Ford. While GMC trucks carry a lower sticker price, the quality rating is lower as well. GMC trucks include GMC Canyon Compact truck for $16,000 to $29,000 and GMC Sierra. GMC Sierra comes in 1500HD, 2500HD and 3500HD models with prices that can range from $18,000 to $42,000.
The Chevy Silverado is nearly as popular as the GMC trucks. This attractive truck has excellent towing capabilities but is quite expensive as costs range from $29,000 to $42,000. Other automobile companies make trucks that each have their fans. These include the HUMMER H2, Lincoln Mark LT, Dodge Ram, Honda Ridgeline, and Nissan Titan.
What puts these best sellers on the list is more than a price. Even though some models sell better due to price, many models are more attractive if they have flexible options. What do today's modern cowboys and cowgirls want in their "horse"? Cargo and truck bed size are large deciding factors. The ability to store more in back or haul heavy boats requires different size truck beds and big engines. Big engines should not mean low mileage. Owners are becoming a little more environmentally conscious about wasting gas. Also, gas is so very expensive!
Trucks of all types have become America's number one vehicle throughout the country. Americans on the go love the power and versatility of this type of vehicle. If you wish to learn more about trucks visit http://www.rustruck.com
